Vee’s short story Cinder Toffee, a fictionalised account of the groundbreaking discovery of the Moine Thrust by geologists Peach and Horne, won the Hugh Miller Writing Competition Fiction Prize in 2020 and was published online by the Scottish Geology Association at the time. Her fictional young adult novella account of the brutal aftermath of the Battle of Culloden from the point of view of local women, The Tale of Eppy Hogg, was shortlisted for The Kelpies Prize 2023 (currently unpublished).

Her dystopian short story Foraging by Numbers was commended and published by The Scottish Arts Trust as part of its 2023 Short Story Competition anthology, Solemates.  Vee’s two Patiala Letter novels, based in India, Afghanistan, Canada and England, another fictionalised family memoir/saga, follows the strange story of Vee’s paternal grandparents (final edit stage), their only son and the Maharajah of Patiala and his Irish Maharani (sensitivity/beta reading underway).

Vee often edits memoir manuscripts for Jericho Writers and is a founder editor with CannyEdit, a Highland editing co-operative. She is available for speaking engagements, writing workshops and literary festivals.
